Big Sur Revealed takes us inside a Big Sur unknown to most, exposing the extraordinary nature of this vast wilderness. Through Douglas Steakley's lens, we see sunrays streaming through storm clouds and reflecting off late afternoon fog. We see granite beach stones and eroded hillsides, Indian pictographs and bedrock grinding holes. We see rising moons, waterfalls, star trails, redwood forests and tidal creeks. Douglas reveals Big Sur as a land for all seasons and all creatures. Hardcover, 112 pages, published in 2017. Doug Steakley is a highly acclaimed photographer from Carmel Valley, California. His images span the Monterey Peninsula to far-flung locales around the globe where he leads photography tours. Doug supports and works with various land conservation groups and received the Ansel Adams award for photography. He has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Center for Photographic Art in Carmel. His work can be found in many private and public collections.
