Bold Blooms: Quilts and Other Works Celebrating Flowers
Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of flowers, Kaffe Fassett's Bold Blooms invites crafters to explore the behind-the-scenes process and fascinating design methods used to create Kaffe's bold fabrics and modern color palettes: from "sketching" with fabric swatches to creating mood boards and renderings to sewing visually striking quilts. Featured throughout are 18 new quilt patterns and 7 new needle points. Hardcover, 224 pages, published in 2016. Kaffe Fassett, an accomplished painter, and designer of textiles, is widely acknowledged as a visionary in the use of color. In 1988 he was the first living textile designer to be given a one-person show at the V&A in London. He is a fabric designer for Rowan Patchwork and Quilting and the primary knitwear designer for Rowan Yarns.
